MLB Tuesday - Albert picks Astros v Reds, Cubs v White Sox, Royals v Mariners, Red Sox v Twins, Verlander, Hamels, Price, Pineda

Favorite Pick of the Day:
Astros (-172) over Reds

Chicago Pick of the Day:
Cubs (-220) over White Sox

Are You Sure? Pick of the Day:
Royals (+135) over Mariners

Pick’em of the Day:
Red Sox (-120) over Twins

The Skinny:
I’ve doubted Justin Verlander in the past and it has gotten me in trouble, so I won’t be doing that any more. And at a lower price than normal, this seems like a steal. The Astros are 6-0 in Verlander’s last six road starts vs. a team with a losing record and 10-1 in Verlander’s last 11 starts vs. a team with a losing record. Take that to the bank . . . It pains me to pick against the White Sox, but Cole Hamels has been unreal as of late. Hamels has not let up an earned run in the month of June and the Cubs are 5-1 in Hamels' last six home starts. Ugh! . . . There’s not a ton to say about this one other than there is value to be had. The Royals are 4-1 in their last five road games vs. a left-handed starter and the Mariners are 1-5 in their last six home games vs. a right-handed starter. Enough for you? Enough for me . . . This is as close to a pick ’em as we have here, and I’m taking the road team. The Red Sox are hot and David Price is just the guy to keep the train rolling. The Red Sox are 11-1 in Price’s last 12 starts after allowing two runs or less in their previous game, while the Twins are 0-4 in Michael Pineda’s last four starts vs. a team with a winning record.
