Pick’em of the Day:
Brewers (-110) over Giants

The Skinny:
You know the saying: “Fool me once . . . ” yada yada yada. With Chris Sale on the mound, I won’t be fooled again, despite the incredibly high price for a road team. It does help that the Red Sox are 17-4 in Sale’s last 21 road starts vs. a team with a losing record. . . . This might not go over well, but I’m fading both Aaron Nola and the Phillies Saturday. Friday night was inexcusable, and the Braves are, appropriately, hotter than Atlanta in August. The Phillies are 1-4 in Nola’s last five starts when their opponent allows five runs or more in their previous game. . . . I understand that the Dodgers will probably be favorites in any game they play from here on out, but the price is way too high against a team like the Cubs with Yu Darvish on the mound. The Cubs are 4-1 in Darvish’s last five starts following a team loss in their previous game. . . . I gotta tell ya, I don’t know why this line is where it is. Sure, Madison Bumgarner is on the bump for the Giants, but he hasn’t been that great as of late. They are 2-8 in Bumgarner’s last 10 starts vs. a team with a winning record. Plus, the Brewers are 4-0 in Jimmy Nelson’s last four starts vs. National League West.
