Will the Yankees and Orioles ever play baseball? Well, I had the Orioles to upset the Yanks in the series opener, but that just won’t be the case with David Hess on the mound for the birds. The Orioles are 3-13 in Hess' last 16 road starts, 0-4 in Hess' last four starts vs. American League East and 0-7 in Hess' last seven road starts vs. a team with a winning record. Woof. . . . It is incredibly hard to pick against the Cubs right now, and with them with plus-odds, I’m not starting to now. The Cubs have won five straight and have Yu Darvish on the mound, where they are 4-1 in his last five starts. . . . The Red Sox saw Chris Sale strikeout 17 last night and still lose. That’s hard to bounce back from. Plus, the Rockies are 6-0 in German Marquez’s last six interleague starts. Feels like a Rockies win. . . . This feels like a “put up or shut up” spot for Jake Arrieta. The Phillies are sliding a bit, especially with Bryce Harper struggling, so the adult in the room needs to have a great start to even the keel. I think he does. It’s quirky, but the Phillies are 6-0 in Arrieta’s last six Wednesday starts. Guess what day it is?
