MLB Wednesday: Albert’s Quick Pitch Picks - Rockies v Nationals, Phillies v Mets, Yankees v Angels, and Cubs v Dodgers

Favorite Pick of the Day:
ROCKIES (-148) over Nationals

Battle for First Place Pick of the Day
Phillies (-120) over METS

Pick’em of the Day:
YANKEES (-110) over Angels

If You Must:
CUBS (-105) over Dodgers

The Skinny:
The trends are pretty split on this, but German Marquez has had success this year and should be able to keep it rolling. He is 2-1 with a 2.25 ERA, and the Rockies are 4-0 in Marquez’s last four starts on days of rest. . . . The Phillies look awful. But they have been able to rebound from bad performances, and Vince Velazquez might be the perfect fix for the snide. While he has struggled when the Phillies have, he has just a 2.55 ERA this year, but has yet to pick up a win. Also, the Mets are 1-7 in Jason Vargas' last eight starts when their opponent allows five runs or more in their previous game. . . . This one is pretty simple: the Yankees are 4-1 in CC Sabathia’s last five starts while the Angels are 1-5 in their last six home games. . . . The Cubs are 5-2 in their last seven against the Dodgers, and Cole Hamels always puts on against former teams. Combine that with the fact that the Cubs are 5-0 in their last five home games vs. a team with a winning record and there’s a recipe for success.
