MLB Friday: Albert’s Quick Pitch Picks - Marlins v Braves, Mariners v White Sox, Cardinals v Padres, & Twins v Phillies

Published on

Favorite Pick of the Day:
BRAVES (-152) over Marlins

Matinee of the Day
WHITE SOX (+110) over Mariners

Low-Risk, High Reward
PADRES (+145) over Cardinals

If You Must:
PHILLIES (-155) over Twins

The Skinny:
Almost all the trends point to taking Atlanta today. The Braves are 8-0 in their last eight home games vs. a right-handed starter, are 9-1 in their last 10 home games and are Braves are 4-1 in Kevin Gausman’s last five starts vs. National League East. . . . There were just three instances last year in which Reynaldo Lopez gave up more runs than his previous outing of giving up four or more runs, so don’t expect him to do that today. Under is 4-1 in the last five meetings between these two clubs, so trends point to it being a low-scoring game, which favors the Sox. . . .  There are a lot of trends working against the Cardinals today. The Padres are 4-1 in their last five during Game 1 of a series, the Cardinals are 1-6 in Jack Flaherty’s last seven starts and the Cardinals are 1-7 in their last eight home games against a team with a winning record. Yikes. . . . This one is probably going to get rained out, but the Phillies are coming off a loss in which they essentially blew the game. The new-look squad won’t let that happen again with budding ace Nick Pivetta on the bump. But don’t count on getting this one in.
