Harness Racing: Mitchell’s choices for Thursday night at Yonkers

Keene Olivia (7) - Claimed in his last start by Richard Banca. He is known to wake horses up. Perfect spot for the wake up call. Shesaidhesaidisaid (6) was a beaten favorite in her last pair. She finished second in those two. Prior to that she beat this class. Has the sharpest form of this group. Sweet You (3) - Belated close in last from 7 post. Moves inside to the 3 post and has to be considered from here. Pirinea’s Princess (8) - Even with Gingras up, this is a terrible spot. Still, he can sneak into the trifecta or superfecta.

Yonkers Race 8
Acefortyfouramanda (6) - This one had a tough trip in last. Tonight she goes back to her winning driver, Needs to show good early foot – then she can win. Fancy Creek Jolene (8) - The poor post is a real problem here. This one has some early speed so she might work her way into the mile. But I’m not sure she can win from here. Sue’s Night Out (2) raced evenly in last from the rail and was never a factor. Tonight she picks up Gingras and that is always a lift. Must consider in gimmick bets. Milady Denver A (1) hasn’t been close lately but the rail is certainly a help. Would not be surprised if she gets in the superfecta.

Livinginthedream (3) - Sharp mare seeks her third consecutive win. Not just is she sharp but the Surick stable has been on fire. Very tough from here. Chillin It De Vie (1) - Strong 2 post effort in last and is well placed from here. Could be key to the gimmick bets. Velocity Layla (6) - Nobly named lass hasn’t won in 7 tries this year. Mostly, she lacks wallop late in the mile but she had some okay races. Figures to rally late vs these. Filly Forty Seven (7) dug in and wired similar from 4 post in last. This spot is much more difficult but if she can get to the lead easily, but that probably won’t happen, she can be competitive.
