Harness Monday: Picking the Petticoat Pacing Series at Yonkers

Popular Yonkers event
Published on

Three divisions of the popular Petticoat Pacing Series for three and four-year-old females are races 4, 5 and 6 on the card.

YONKERS RACE 4
Odds On Ashley (2) figures to be on the lead for a long time from this spot. The Tony Alagna trainee has won 4 of 6 this year with two place finishes. Loves being on the lead. Catch An Ace (3) Has won 4 of 7 this year, with two place finishes. Made a break last start as an overwhelming favorite. Might sit the pocket vs Ashley in here. Ella Is Awesome (6) has scored wins in both of her Petticoat races. Tonight she draws the outside post. Will face a rugged trip if she tries to fire away. Take Abit Of Life (1) seems a bit behind the top pair. Still, she can easily be involved in the gimmick bets.
The Bet: #1 Odds On Ashley $5 win.

YONKERS RACE 5
Cabowabocuttie (1) Both of her Petticoat races were sharp and she draws the rail here. She won her last start in an impressive manner. Will be equally tough tonight. Bye Hanover (2) led early last race from the 7 post before retreating late in the mile to finish fifth. Back inside tonight and will improve. Parkin In Heaven (4) second and third in her last pair against these. She had good late pace in last to finish second. Playin The Ponies (3) hasn’t been close lately but might improve from this spot.
The Bet: Cabowabocuttie (1) $5 win

YONKERS RACE 6
She’s Pukka N (2) The inside post certainly helps this mare. She had solid races in New Zealand last season and her U.S. races show speed and ability this year. Pelican Blue Chip (3) has a place and show finish in the series and is from the powerful Allard stable. That alone make her competitive against these. Robyn Camden (6) hasn’t been worse than second in 6 starts this year with 3 wins. Her form is solid and she has a good closing kick. Will be closing fast from here. Shellie De Vie (1) went nowhere from rail last start and is back there tonight. She did have a win at Dover a few starts back but that means nothing here.
The Bet: She’s Pukka N (2) $5 win. $2 Exacta Box 2,3,6
