Just one week after losing in a playoff to Scottie Scheffler, Tom Kim is now the favorite to win the 2024 Rocket Mortgage Classic. This annual PGA Tour stop tees off on Thursday, June 27 and we're here for it.
After some lengthy statistical analysis, our staff has settled on 4 DFS plays for Underdog Fantasy. Check those out below! Good luck!
Must be 18+ (19+ in AL and NE, 21+ in AZ, IA, LA, and MA) and present in a state where Fantasy operates. Concerned with your play? Call 1-800-GAMBLER or visit www.ncpgambling.org.
After missing three straight cuts, Chris Kirk has put together two solid tournaments posting a top-30 finish at Pinehurst and shooting 2-under at the Travelers Championship last week.
Last year, Kirk posted a score of -14 at the RM Classic finishing tied for 14th place in a bunched field of the top golfers. Coming off back-to-back scores in the 60s at a tougher River Highlands course last week, look for Chris to get off to a hot start to this tournament.
He shot a first-round 67 at this course last season and will look to continue his solid play before The Open in a few weeks.
One of the big surprises of the season has been Rob Macintyre out of Scotland. Gearing up for his hometown tournament at the Open, you could expect Rob to round into form as he looks to give the home fans something special at Royal Troon in a few weeks.
Macintyre gets hot in a flash - he posted 8 birdies in a round last week at the Travelers and has posted five sub-66 rounds in his last five tournaments.
Dominant against a weaker field, we expect Macintyre to get off to a hot start with six or more birds, something he’s done countless times this season.
Svensson has found his way above the cut line in most tournaments this season but hasn’t figured out how to score at a high rate.
Adam has shot 70 or above in eight of his last tournaments while struggling to nail birdie putts (161st in putting) which ranks near the lowest among PGA Tour players.
Struggling with his approach shots this season, it’s tough to see Svensson coming in hot this tournament after some slow starts this season. His best finish since February has been a T24 at the Charles Schwab.
Willy Z. is a favorite to win this week at 30-1 behind a few players such as Cam Young and Min Woo Lee. Zalatoris is a consistent ball striker that should dominate the greens this week.
After his injury last season, it took Will a few tournaments to get back on track, but four top-13 finishes this season lead us to trust the elite ball striker once again, especially against a weaker field where he has a shot to win his second career PGA tournament.
WZ has posted two rounds sub-67 in opening rounds this season, but after a hot start and slow finish in last week’s Travelers tournament, look for one of the game’s up-and-coming major championship performers to put together a respectable first round with minimal bogeys and a handful of birdie opportunities.
Bet Recap:
Zalatoris Lower 67.5 strokes
Svensson Lower 5.0 birdies
Macintyre Higher 5.5 birdies
Kirk Lower 68.0 strokes
