Scottie Scheffler is the Clear Favorite

Scottie Scheffler, with odds at +300, stands as the clear favorite to win the US Open. There’s really not much to argue on this one. Scheffler’s season has been nothing short of spectacular, capturing four victories and an arrest, including a commanding win at the Masters.

His all-around game is tailor-made for the challenging conditions of Pinehurst. Scheffler’s accuracy, iron play, and consistent putting make him the player to beat.

Top Contenders

While Scheffler is the man to beat, it goes to say that a single slip-up on any hole will open up the race for these guys who will be hot on his heels.

Rory McIlroy

Rory McIlroy comes in with odds of +1100. While we think that’s a bit steep, but we’ll take it.  He is a perennial favorite at the US Open, and for good reason.

McIlroy's strong iron play and experience in major tournaments make him probably the hottest competitor to be chasing Scheffler. While he hasn't won a major since 2014, his recent tournaments show he has been promising. A player of his caliber is always a threat in the big events, and Pinehurst’s demanding course could see McIlroy rise to the occasion once more.

We think McIllroy is underrated in the odds and we like him for the US Open.

Xander Schauffele

Xander Schauffele, with odds of +1000, is another top contender, though, maybe not as much as McIllroy.

Fresh off a victory at the PGA Championship, Schauffele's consistent ball-striking and calm demeanor under pressure are crucial assets on a course like this.

He has a track record of performing well in majors, and his current form suggests he could be a major player at Pinehurst. His ability to navigate difficult courses makes him a strong candidate to contend for the title. Don’t be surprised if he walks away with the winner’s share of the US Open purse.

Other Notable Favorites

Collin Morikawa (+1600), Viktor Hovland (+2000), Bryson DeChambeau (+2000), and Brooks Koepka (+2200) round out the group of top favorites. Each of these players brings something special to the US Open and they all have a history of success in major tournaments.

  • Collin Morikawa. His surgical precision with irons and calmness under pressure have earned him two major titles already. Pinehurst’s layout suits his game, and he could be a significant threat for the title if his putter gets hot.

  • Viktor Hovland. Hovland's steady improvement and recent performances make him a strong candidate for the winner’s share of the purse. His ability to grind through tough conditions is an asset at the US Open. Watch Hovland closely this week.

  • Bryson DeChambeau. Known for his power game, DeChambeau can overwhelm any course and he’ll make quick work of Pinehurst. If he can control his drives and leverage his length effectively, he could be a dominant force in the field of pros.

  • Brooks Koepka. A two-time US Open champion, Koepka thrives in major championships. Despite battling a few injuries, his competitive nature and experience make him a dangerous opponent — if he stays healthy.

Bold Predictions on the Longshots

While the favorites are always in the spotlight, the US Open often sees unexpected names rise to the challenge. After all, every PGA Tour champion has had to start somewhere, right?  Here are some of our bolder predictions for this year’s tournament.

Sahith Theegala

Sahith Theegala, with odds of +5000, we think is poised for a breakthrough. Theegala has been knocking on the door with several strong performances this season and the US Open in Pinehurst could be the one. His fearless approach and ability to handle pressure make him a dark horse to watch. A top-10 finish or even a contention for the title isn’t out of the question.

Cameron Smith

Cameron Smith, another player sitting at odds of +5000, has shown he can compete with the best. Known for his exceptional putting and short game, Smith could thrive on Pinehurst’s demanding greens. We’ve even heard from some sources that the greens are essentially ‘unplayable.’

If he can keep his ball in play off the tee and get to the greens, Smith might find himself in the mix come Sunday. We’re rooting for this one for sure.

Wyndham Clark

The defending champion, Wyndham Clark, at +6500, should not be overlooked. Winning a US Open is no small feat, and Clark’s ability to handle the pressure and perform at the highest level is obviously proven. While defending a title such as the US Open is incredibly challenging, Clark’s familiarity with the unique pressures of the US Open could see him make another strong run.

Betting on the US Open

The US Open at Pinehurst from 13-16 June promises to be an exciting tournament, as usual. We’re thinking it’ll be full of drama and incredible golf.

While Scottie Scheffler stands as the clear favorite and sure-shot champion, the talent in the field means anything can happen. Rory McIlroy, Xander Schauffele, and other top golfers will surely make their presence felt, while longshots like Russell Henley, Dean Burmester, and Justin Thomas offer plenty of excitement for those looking for a surprise and perhaps cash in on some bets.

As always, the US Open is a test of skill, strategy, and mental toughness. There’s no other tournament quite like it. Pinehurst’s challenging layout and impossible greens will reward those who can stay focused and nail their drives and putts under pressure. Whether it’s a dominant performance by a favorite or an unexpected charge from an underdog, this year’s US Open is set to be a thrilling spectacle.

We’ll keep our eyes on the US Open odds and keep you updated throughout the tournament.
