Beach Boys headed to Atlantic City this summer
What’s summer without an appearance by the Beach Boys? Thankfully, we don’t have to contemplate the answer to that question because the iconic rock band that is to the Southern California Coast as Bruce Springsteen is to Asbury Park will perform July 27 at the Etess Arena inside the Hard Rock Hotel Casino Atlantic City.
The band, whose many signature songs include “Good Vibrations,” “I Get Around,” “Fun, Fun, Fun” and “Kokomo,” was formed in 1961 under the aegis of legendary composer Brian Wilson. However, only one original member, Mike Love, remains. Bruce Johnston, who played with the Beach Boys from 1965-1968 and then rejoined them as a permanent member in 1978, is also part of the unit’s current incarnation.
Tickets, which go on sale Friday at 10 a.m., are available at www.ticketmaster.com.
