Week 11 in the CFL is a tale of contenders separating from pretenders, with two winless teams on the road, a division race tightening in the West, and Saskatchewan trying to keep its foot on the gas against a Hamilton team that’s already seen this movie once this season.

Four games are on the board this week, and the number that jumps off the page is the size of the favorites — every team getting points is getting a lot of them. That usually means the sharp money and the public agree on who’s better, but it also means there’s real value buried in a couple of these lines if you know where to look.

BC Lions vs. Calgary Stampeders

Thursday, 9:00 p.m. ET at McMahon Stadium. Calgary is favored by 5.5 (-260 on the moneyline) with the total set at 64.5, and this one has the feel of two teams searching for answers rather than a clean matchup of strength versus strength. BC’s receiving corps has taken a beating — Keon Berryhill, Justin Cotto and Seven McGee are all dealing with injuries, and the offensive line isn’t much healthier with multiple linemen banged up. Calgary isn’t fully whole either; leading receiver Reggie Begelton is out with a knee issue and Bryce Bell is questionable up front, but the Stampeders get defensive back Zy Alexander and defensive lineman Jaylon Hutchings back at full go, plus defensive back Damon Webb and defensive lineman Folarin Orimolade have both worked their way back to full participation after long absences.

Both teams have shown flashes but not consistency, which is exactly the kind of matchup where health matters more than scheme. At home, with a wounded BC receiving group trying to move the ball against a Calgary defense that’s rounding back into form, the Stampeders should have enough to control this one from start to finish.

Pick: Calgary Stampeders -5.5

Ottawa Redblacks vs. Winnipeg Blue Bombers

Friday, 8:30 p.m. ET at IG Field. Winnipeg is a heavy favorite at -6.5 (-310 on the moneyline), and the total sits at 56.5. There’s a subplot here that makes this one more interesting than the line suggests: Dru Brown, reassigned by Ottawa during training camp without ever taking a regular-season snap for the Redblacks, now lines up across from his former team as Winnipeg’s starter. Jake Maier gets the nod for Ottawa. Ottawa remains winless and has been outscored badly on the road, while Winnipeg has won four straight in this series and covered in three straight home meetings.

Running back Brady Oliveira has been limited in practice with an ankle issue, which is worth monitoring, and quarterback Zach Collaros has dealt with a neck issue as well, though both were full participants earlier in the week. Winnipeg’s defense facing a struggling Ottawa offense should be enough to cover comfortably even if one of those two isn’t at full strength. This is the kind of spot — a desperate divisional opponent walking into a building where the home team just doesn’t lose — where big numbers tend to hold up.

Pick: Winnipeg Blue Bombers -6.5

Toronto Argonauts vs. Edmonton Elks

Saturday, 3:00 p.m. ET at Commonwealth Stadium. Edmonton is favored by 3.5 (-220 on the moneyline) with the total at 61.5. This is the most balanced matchup of the week on paper. Edmonton has been one of the better stories in the West this season and enters on stronger recent form, while Toronto has been streaky, alternating winning and losing stretches for much of the year. Chad Kelly gives Toronto a legitimate arm to work with, and Cody Fajardo has settled in as a steady presence for Edmonton’s offense.

The public is nearly split down the middle on the spread, which tells you oddsmakers have this one priced about right. Edmonton’s home-field advantage and the more consistent quarterback play tip this toward the Elks, but Toronto has enough playmakers on the outside to keep this game inside the number deep into the fourth quarter. Neither offense should have much trouble finding the end zone against these two defenses, which is part of why the total sits north of 61.

Pick: Toronto Argonauts +3.5

Saskatchewan Roughriders vs. Hamilton Tiger-Cats

Saturday, 7:00 p.m. ET at Tim Hortons Field. Saskatchewan is favored by 6.5 (-270 on the moneyline) with the total set at 56.5. The Roughriders have been the class of the West at 6-2, and they’ve already made a statement against this exact opponent — a 38-7 beatdown back in July that was as lopsided as the score suggests. Saskatchewan has won five straight in the series, and Hamilton’s 3-6 record reflects a team still searching for consistency on both sides of the ball.

Trevor Harris has given the Roughriders steady quarterback play all season, while Harrison Frost and the Ticats’ offense have had trouble sustaining drives against good defenses. Saskatchewan also ranks among the league’s better units in total yardage, and that edge up front should show up again here. Given the history and the form gap, this line looks fair, if anything slightly short given how lopsided the last meeting played out.

Pick: Saskatchewan Roughriders -6.5

This Week’s Best Bets

Two games stand out above the rest of the slate. Winnipeg’s spot against Ottawa is about as safe as a CFL cover gets right now — a desperate, winless road team facing a Blue Bombers group with a personal grudge match on the field and a near-perfect recent record in this series. Saskatchewan’s rematch with Hamilton is the other lean worth building around, given how emphatically the Riders won the first meeting and how little has changed for either team since.

  1. Ottawa Redblacks @ Winnipeg Blue Bombers: Winnipeg -6.5
  2. Saskatchewan Roughriders @ Hamilton Tiger-Cats: Saskatchewan -6.5
