Aristocrat Interactive Launches Lightning Link Online Across North America
Aristocrat Interactive has launched Lightning Link High Stakes across every regulated U.S. and Canadian online casino market, bringing the iconic land-based slot franchise online for the first time.

Aristocrat Interactive has brought Lightning Link, one of the biggest slot brands to ever hit a casino floor, into the online real-money gaming space for the first time. The company’s online real-money gaming (RMG) division launched Lightning Link High Stakes across every regulated iGaming state in the U.S. and Canadian provinces, marking the franchise’s official jump from land-based cabinets to legal online casino apps.
The rollout puts Lightning Link High Stakes on major online casino platforms across all seven regulated U.S. online casino states, plus Ontario and Alberta, giving Aristocrat Interactive a cross-border footprint at launch rather than a slower state-by-state expansion. Aristocrat Interactive said more titles from the Lightning Link family are on the way in the coming months.
Why Lightning Link Matters to Online Casino Players
Lightning Link has been a fixture of casino floors for more than a decade, known for its Hold & Spin bonus round and its bank of linked jackpots that pop up across machines in the same bank. That land-based popularity is exactly why the online launch is a notable moment for regulated online casino operators — it’s a proven, recognizable title rather than an unproven new release.
“The launch of Lightning Link brings one of the most successful land-based slot game families in history to online players across the U.S. and Canada,” Aristocrat Interactive CEO Dylan Slaney said. “This is a full-scale network rollout supported by the industry’s largest operators, featuring a roadmap of subsequent legendary titles.”
Lightning Link High Stakes carries over the franchise’s signature Hold & Spin mechanic along with multi-denomination play, a Cash-on-Reels feature, a Big Reel bonus during free games, and shared progressive jackpots that include a Grand Jackpot. The theme leans into a Las Vegas aesthetic, with roulette wheels, poker chips, and luxury cars woven into the game’s visual design — the same imagery that made the slot instantly recognizable on casino floors.
Part of a Bigger Canadian and U.S. Push
The Lightning Link launch lands just weeks after Aristocrat Interactive went live in Alberta’s newly regulated iGaming and sports betting market, which opened to private operators on July 13. That launch included nearly 40 titles from Aristocrat’s catalog, building on a relationship with PlayAlberta.ca that dates back to 2024. Alberta became the second Canadian province, after Ontario, to shift to a commercial multi-operator model, and Aristocrat Interactive is also active in British Columbia through BCLC, Atlantic Canada through ALC, and Québec.
“Lightning Link is synonymous with gaming around the world,” Slaney said. “By translating this tried-and-true land-based game family for the online RMG space, we deliver a product with proven performance data. This is the definition of omni-channel excellence: taking this global sensation and optimizing it for the digital frontier.”
Bringing a top-performing land-based brand to regulated online casino platforms fits a broader trend among suppliers looking to lean on proven demand rather than gambling on brand-new IP in a crowded online slots market. With Lightning Link now live and more titles from the franchise promised for later this year, operators across the newly expanded North American footprint will be watching how the brand performs once it’s stripped of the physical cabinet and reels players in purely through an app or browser.
