Boyd Gaming Q2 2026 Revenue Flat as Regional and Online Growth Offset Las Vegas Softness

Boyd Gaming reported second-quarter 2026 revenue of $1.034 billion, essentially flat compared to $1.035 billion in the same period a year ago, while net income slipped to $131.2 million, or $1.75 per share, down from $151.5 million, or $1.84 per share, in the second quarter of 2025. The Las Vegas-based operator said the results reflect a diversified portfolio that continues to lean on regional properties and its growing online business even as parts of its Las Vegas footprint face softer demand.

Total Adjusted EBITDAR came in at $350.5 million, compared to $357.9 million a year earlier, and adjusted earnings were $144.4 million, or $1.93 per share, versus $154.2 million, or $1.87 per share, in the prior-year quarter. Boyd president and CEO Keith Smith framed the quarter as evidence that the company’s spread across regional casinos, Las Vegas locals and downtown properties, online gaming, and managed properties is paying off even as certain segments cool.

Regional Strength Offsets Las Vegas Softness

Smith said the Midwest & South segment delivered both revenue and Adjusted EBITDAR growth during the quarter, powered by increased play from core and retail customers along with returns from recent capital investments across those properties. That regional strength stood in contrast to Boyd’s Las Vegas locals segment, which Smith said was hurt by continued softness in destination business, particularly at the Orleans, and ongoing construction disruption at the Suncoast. Excluding those two properties, Smith said the rest of the Las Vegas locals segment still grew revenue and Adjusted EBITDAR year over year, with property operating margins exceeding 50%.

Downtown Las Vegas told a similar story to the broader locals market. Smith said play from both core customers and Hawaiian visitors held steady with recent quarters, but overall results were still weighed down by ongoing weakness in destination business throughout the downtown corridor. Across the portfolio, Boyd reported property operating margins of 40%, a level Smith said the company has consistently delivered over the last several years.

Online and Managed Segments Provide Growth

Boyd’s online segment reflected growth from the company’s online casino gaming business, along with continued contributions from its third-party market-access agreements, consistent with recent quarters. The managed business segment posted strong revenue and Adjusted EBITDAR growth as well, which Smith attributed to increased management fees from Sky River Casino following the property’s recently completed expansion.

The quarter’s results underscore a broader trend across the regional casino industry, where operators have increasingly pointed to customers staying closer to home rather than traveling to destination markets like Las Vegas. Boyd’s numbers, with regional and online growth offsetting Las Vegas destination weakness, fit that pattern closely.

Capital Returns and Balance Sheet

Boyd continued to return significant capital to shareholders during the quarter, with more than $170 million distributed through dividends and share repurchases. The company paid a quarterly cash dividend of $0.20 per share on July 15 and repurchased $156 million in common stock during the quarter. As of June 30, Boyd had $551 million remaining under its current share repurchase authorization.

The company reported cash on hand of $322.7 million and total debt of $2.6 billion as of June 30. Smith pointed to Boyd’s balance sheet and free cash flow generation as key advantages heading into the back half of the year, saying the company’s efficient operating model positions it to keep creating long-term shareholder value even as pockets of the business, particularly Las Vegas destination traffic, remain under pressure.
