MLB Saturday - Vetrone Picks Angels v Athletics, White Sox v Twins, Nationals v Tigers, Indians v Orioles, Mike Trout, Zach Pleasac
Favorite of the Day:
Angels (-140) over Athletics
Underdog of the Day:
White Sox (+135) over Twins
Runs Line Play of the Day:
Nationals -1.5 (-134) over Tigers
Rebound Play of the Day:
Indians (-160) over Orioles
The Skinny:
Mike Trout has one hit in his last 12 at-bats. Those types of things don’t ususally last long. Angels LHP Tyler Skaggs has thrown a couple of mini-gems his last two times out. LHP Brett Anderson was torched for nine hits and seven runs in three innings when he last showed his face on the mound for the Athletics . . . The White Sox have been playing well at home (10-4 since May 27) and the Twins are starting to come back to the pack a little bit (5-7 since June 16) . . . Nationals are 18-8 since May 29 and 17 of those wins have been by multiple runs. The Tigers’ June Swoon is in full force (4-17) and have lost eight straight, the last six by two or more . . . The Orioles put a Colts/Browns-like 13-0 beating on the Indians Friday, which does not bold well for Baltimore. Cleveland is 8-0 following their last eight losses (granted none of them were by a touchdown and two field goals). Zach Plesac, out of David Letterman’s alma mater of Ball State, has had a pretty good first half-dozen starts to his career, especially for the Indians’ 12th-round pick in 2016.
