The Saturday Philly Props: Phillies, Braves, Scott Kingery, Mike Kingery
All hail Scott Kingery!
He homered again Friday night in the Phillies’ heart-breaking loss to the Braves. That gives him eight on the season, four in his last four games and a career total of 16. That number is quickly closing in on former journeyman Mike Kingery (30 for six teams from 1986-96) for most career home runs for any Kingery. (There are just the two of them.)
As long as he keeps belting them, we’ll keep smiling and considering him from the Props lineup.
The Braves have not had a Home Under game since May 19. That is one Push (the 9 below) followed by nine Overs. Just as an FYI, here are the totals for those games in order:
9, 18, 10, 15, 11, 20, 12, 15, 11, 17.
If this were the 2018 Aaron Nola on the mound for the Phils here, or if the Fightins’ offense hadn’t posted a TD+ in three of the last four games, we’d be wary of the nine, but we’re not.
(Remember a few seasons ago when almost every MLB game had an Over/Under of 5.5 or 6 and the posted 8 or 9 was rarer than an team from Canada winning the NBA Championship?)
Pick: Scott Kingery to Homer ($5/+850)
Pick: Phillies-Braves Over 9 ($5/-103)
