The Sunday Philly Props: Phillies

Published on

The first Phillies batter Brandon Woodruff ever faced was Cesar Hernandez on June 10, 2018.

Hernandez singled.

Since then, Phillies hitters are 1-for-29 (.034) against him with seven walks and eight strikeouts. He is 6-1 this season and the Brewers have won his last five starts.

But the Phillies have awakened from their slumber. Rhys Hoskins has three extra-base hits in his last eight plate appearances after having gone 68 consecutive plate appearances without one. (Roll that around in your brain for a while.)

The Phillies are 8-1 in their last nine Final Games of Series and 5-1 in their last six Road Getaway Games. (Some kudos for keeping the players focused on those days has to go to the manager, on whom we have not always lavished praise.)

The bats stay alive and take Woodruff deep a time or two.

Pick: J.T. Realmuto Homers & Phils Win ($3/+1100)
Pick: Bryce Harper Homers & Phils Win ($3/+800)
Pick: Rhys Hoskins Homers ($4/+350)
