Vince Velasquez takes to the Coors Field mound for the Phillies Friday night, and although he has pitched well in his first two starts, we are going with Under 4.5 Strikeouts for him.
Velasquez has stated he is pitching more to contact this season, which maybe isn’t the best thing to do in Denver, but that does not concern us in this instance.
He hasn’t struck out more than four in any of his last six starts, dating back to last season, and that does concern us. In a good way.
Also, we are thinking the Phillies have to start putting together some big innings some time soon. We know they can do it (see Tuesday, first inning), so why not out here in the Mile High City.
