Premier League Match Day 6 Sat. early picks: Merseyside Derby pits Liverpool v Everton, plus 6 10 a.m. games

There is the Merseyside Derby to open the action, as Liverpool and Everton clash, with two London Derby matches: West Ham Chelsea and Tottenham Fulham, plus Brentford Leeds United and others

After a few crazy early Premier League match weeks, it seems like order is starting to be restored to the table.

If you take a look at the top six teams heading into Match Week 6 this weekend, you see the usual suspects–plus Brighton & Hove Albion–near the top of the table. Both Manchester United and Liverpool, after inauspicious starts, now sit just outside the top four.

Only two of those teams play in either of the two early Saturday windows: Tottenham, which hosts Fulham in one of the two London Derby matches, and Liverpool, which has the Merseyside Derby away to Everton.

Now, to say Everton has a poor record in these matches might be the understatement of the decade: the Toffees have ONE win in 26 dating back to 2011. But they do have 12 draws over that time, and the one victory came in 2021.

Former Liverpool player Jose Enrique, speaking to BoyleSports this week, has spoken about the troubles that some Liverpool defenders have had to start the season.

"Trent (Alexander-Arnold) defensively can have lapses in concentration. He's not a bad defender but he disconnects from the game and he has to be more on top of his game," Enrique said. "Van Dijk has been struggling too."

But will Everton be able to take advantage?
