F.A. Community Shield gives Leicester City, Manchester City early opportunity at silverware Saturday

Leicester City broke through and won its first piece of silverware since the shock 2015-16 Premier League title, while Manchester City won its third Premier League title in four years

Manchester City won two trophies last season- the Premier League and the EFL Carabao Cup- which for any other team would be a dream campaign.

But the greatest team ever fell in the F.A. Cup semifinals to Chelsea 1-0, then lost the UEFA Champions League Final by that same 1-0 score to that same Chelsea team, which took much of the gloss off the celebrations.

It also opened up the F.A. Cup Final for Leicester City, which stunned Chelsea 1-0 thanks to a Youri Tielemans wonder strike and after a late goal was disallowed.

Saturday, Leicester City will take on Manchester City at Wembley Stadium in the F.A. Community Shield, to open up the English top flight campaign.

Manchester City comes in as the favorite, thanks to a deep roster that just got even deeper with the signing of Jack Grealish from Aston Villa for an English record £100 million transfer fee. Grealish probably will not feature today, but the rest of the Cityzens' squad will be raring to go and cement their places in Pep Guardiola's plans.

I think the loss of Wesley Fofana to a fractured fibula could prove to be a pivotal blow for the Foxes all season, but I also think it hurts them in the short term Saturday. Pep collects a lot of these smaller trophies, and I would think the Cityzens get it done at Wembley.
