MLS Playoff picks from Chase: Sporting KC vs SJ Earthquakes, Minnesota UFC vs Rapids, and Timbers vs Dallas FC

Sporting Kansas City vs San Jose Earthquakes at 4:00 pm EST, Minnesota United vs Colorado Rapids at 7:30 pm EST, and Portland Timbers vs Dallas FC at 10:00 pm EST

Andrew Chase

Friday and Saturday featured four Eastern Conference playoff games to kick off the MLS Cup Playoffs. Tonight we move on to the Western Conference before the first round wraps up on Tuesday. We have had great success betting on the Eastern Conference throughout 2020, but I am still confident we can stay hot with the West after our undefeated start betting on the Playoffs.

The West kicks off with Sporting Kansas City against the San Jose Earthquakes at 4:00 PM EST. Sporting Kansas City comes into the tournament as the number one seed in the West. They have not lost in their last four games. Although they are not the most exciting one seed we have ever seen, the San Jose Earthquakes are a lot less reliable.

San Jose played a lot of their games this season in California due to COVID-19 regional scheduling. Four of their eight wins this year came against a disappointing LA Galaxy side, as well as the most overrated team in the MLS, LAFC. The rest of their resume is also underwhelming, and I doubt they add a playoff win to that tonight.

In the 7:30 PM Eastern slot, we have Minnesota United up against the Colorado Rapids. Minnesota United have not lost to the Rapids in their last three, and have not lost a game since September 23rd against the Columbus Crew. Minnesota's superstar center back Ike Opara has been injured all year, but that has not stopped them from having a dominant season.

The Colorado Rapids went on an impressive three-game winning streak to close the season though, taking down Seattle, Portland, and Houston. You could argue that this form could propel them to making a run in the Playoffs, but they had done nothing this season before this point to prove they can keep this up. Minnesota has stayed consistently strong the entire season, and they have made us some money before today. I trust them to do it again tonight.

Finally, the Portland Timbers host Dallas FC at 10:00 PM Eastern. Dallas FC have three wins, one draw, and a loss in their last five. Portland's run of wins from September to October came to a halt quickly, but they are very familiar with playoff games. We have Portland +1000 to win it all in four of the future picks I made on @AndySoccerLocks on Twitter, and we will have them to advance tonight too.

The Plays:

Sporting Kansas City -1 -115 - 1 Unit

Minnesota United to Advance -150 - 1 Unit

Portland Timbers to Advance -165 - 1 Unit

Andrew Chase has 58.5 wins, 32.5 losses, and 18 pushes in Major League Soccer in 2020, netting a return of +25.375 units since July. During the MLS is Back Tournament he put together a record of 16 wins, 7.5 losses, and 4 pushes to net 11.4 units. So far in the Playoffs we have 4 wins, 0 losses, and one draw. Thank you everyone for your time and your trust. Good luck to all.
