Belarusian Cup Sunday: Miller picks BATE Borisov vs Dynamo Brest

BATE Borisov, Dynamo Brest, go in search of record fourth Belarusian Cup title. The battle begins at 10 am EDT.

Sean Miller

One way or another, either BATE Borisov or Dynamo Brest is leaving Dinamo Stadium in Minsk Sunday with their record fourth Belarusian Cup trophy.

After these two teams played Wednesday in the Premier League, it should be clear that BATE Borisov is the heavy favorite heading into the final. The Zholto-Sinie won 3-1 a few days ago, but it was Brest that won this contest 3-2 in 2018 for its second title in a row.

BATE Borisov is 1-2 in this final since 2015 (its last title), but comes in on a six-match winning streak (eight unbeaten).

Cup finals are always tough, but this may just come down to which team is playing better, and that would be the Zholto-Sinie. I would expect BATE Borisov, which sits on top of the league table as the overwhelming favorite to win back its league crown, to find a way to win this piece of silverware Sunday.
