Soccer Preview - Miller Has Premier League Week One Schedule, Odds, Manchester City, Manchester United, Liverpool, Chelsea, Tottenham

Sean Miller

Early Thursday morning (4 a.m. EDT), the Premier League released its fixture list for the upcoming 2019-20 season.

Fans of teams all across the world got to see the path laid out all the way until next May, when the new champion will be crowned.

But will it be a new champion? It seems very likely that Manchester City will become just the second club in Premier League history to win three straight titles, joining the Manchester United sides of 1998-99, 1999-2000, 2000-01 and 2006-2007, 2007-08, 2008-09.

The Cityzens open as -137 favorites to lift the trophy, with Liverpool looking like the only credible team with the chance to stay with them for 38 games. Liverpool fell one point short last season, but almost everything went in the club's favor. Do not expect this race to be as close.

Maybe the best races to look at for value will come in the top four and relegation fights. Manchester United and Chelsea are the fourth and fifth picks to get that top four spot, and the two teams will culminate the opening weekend with a contest at Old Trafford.

In the relegation battle, only newly-promoted Sheffield United is below +100, at -143. Bookmakers do not have much confidence that the Blades can make their stay in the top flight longer than one season.

But three teams will be sent packing to the EFL Championship, and the rest of the teams all have odds from +100. The value is there: you just have to figure out which teams to take.
