Soccer Wednesday - Miller on UEFA Nations League, Portugal v Switzerland, Ronaldo; also United States v Jamaica and Brazil v Qatar

Sean Miller

PORTO, PORTUGAL - The UEFA Nations League final stages get underway Wednesday, with the host team Portugal taking the pitch at the Estadio Dragao in Porto to face Switzerland.

There are not many people giving Switzerland a chance in this spot, especially with the emergence of so much young talent in the Portuguese side that badly needed an infusion after winning the UEFA Euro 2016 tournament title over an up-and-coming France side.

But while Bruno Fernandes, Joao Felix, Bernardo Silva and Goncalo Guedes will form a frightening attack for years, with a good defense as well, this is still about Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Juventus player will play a big role in these two games, and in the upcoming Euro 2020 qualifying. He might play a big role Wednesday as well, with the Swiss defenders preoccupied with the rest of the Portuguese talent.

In other FIFA friendly action, the USA and Brazil will get ready for their respective summer tournaments with matches against Jamaica and Qatar.

Expect the Americans and Brazil to roll.
