Here we are again.
Wednesday, just like last year, Manchester City will take the pitch at the Etihad trying to overturn a deficit against Premier League competition in the UEFA Champions League quarterfinals.
Last year, Liverpool stunned the Citizens, then went all the way to the final before losing comprehensively to Real Madrid.
This season, City’s opponent is Tottenham, which won 1-0 last week in London.
Manchester City has been desperately trying to get to its first Champions League final. The Citizens have only made it to the semifinals one time, two seasons ago when they lost 1-0 on aggregate to Real Madrid.
Tottenham is without Harry Kane, but have a lot of talent on the roster.
City had won three straight against the Spurs before last Tuesday night, and that loss was the only one since January 29 for the Citizens.
The first goal, just like last season, will be huge. City would need three goals if Tottenham score, because of the away goals rule.
So the main questions are, can City hold Tottenham scoreless, and can City score enough to win the tie?
