Thursday NHL: Peterson picks Philadelphia Flyers vs New York Rangers, New Jersey Devils vs Pittsburgh Penguins

Philadelphia Flyers (+130) @ New York Rangers (-159), 7 pm EDT, New Jersey Devils (+230) @ Pittsburgh Penguins (-270), 7 pm EDT.

Andrew Peterson

Philadelphia Flyers (+130) @ New York Rangers (-159), 7 pm EDT

The New York Rangers (23-16-6) and Philadelphia Flyers (20-18-7) are two teams heading in opposite directions. The Rangers will likely miss out on the playoffs, but they're playing like a team who doesn't know that yet. Aside from being dominated their last time out against the Islanders, the Rangers had won four in a row. New York will play host to the struggling Flyers, who are 1-4 in their last five games. Take the Rangers on the Moneyline and consider investing in the over here as well- it has hit in four of the past five meetings between these teams.

PICK: New York Rangers Moneyline (-159), Over 6 (-102)

New Jersey Devils (+230) @ Pittsburgh Penguins (-270), 7 pm EDT

The Pittsburgh Penguins (29-14-3) nearly fell victim to an amazing third period rally by the New Jersey Devils (14-25-6) on Tuesday night that saw the Devils score six goals in the third and still lose 7-6. Pittsburgh sits comfortably in third place in the East, whereas New Jersey is sitting in seventh. The Penguins are 6-4 in their last ten games and have defeated the Devils convincingly in two of the past three meetings. Following a few suspect performances by Pittsburgh, lean on the total here as it has gone over in eight of New Jersey's last ten games and seven of Pittsburgh's last ten, including Tuesday night when the total hit a staggering thirteen.

PICK: Over 5.5 (-119)
