Boop Props: Flyers look to rebound and recent history says they'll do it with a big number, slumping stars should score and pay big

Take your pick from Konecny, Hayes, Couturier, Giroux and van Riemsdyk in Sunday's 8 pm EDT game against the Canadiens. Series tied 1-1.

The slumping Rhys Hoskins’ key bases-loaded double in the Phillies victory over the Mets Saturday has us looking at some Flyers in the seemingly same boat.

Philadelphia’s top five goal-scorers during the regular season – Travis Konecny (24), Kevin Hayes (23), Sean Couturier (22), Claude Giroux (21) and James van Riemsdyk (19) – have a very soccer-like nil tallies on their scoresheet in five games of Round Robin and Conference Quarterfinal play.

And since the Flyers were shut out 2-0 in their last game before the pause (Bruins), that is six games since any of them has scored (Giroux had two March 7 against the Sabres).

Those guys have not been playing terrible (the Flyers are 4-1 since the Restart), but they are a combined 0-for-48 on shots on goal.

The last three times during the season the Flyers allowed five or more goals, they answered with seven, six and five goals themselves in the next game. If the do the same here, some of these guys are bound to get one.
