NHL: Flyers host Capitals in what could be a high scoring affair

Washington is seemingly unstoppable as of late

Capitals @ FLYERS, 7:30 pm
Pick: Over 6.5

It’s a Metropolitan Division showdown tonight as the 2nd place Capitals (38-21-7) take on the surging Flyers (32-26-8) in a tight playoff race in the east.

Washington is on a 4 game winning streak and are seemingly unstoppable as of late. 7-3-0 in their last 10 make them a force to be reckoned with. In the last 4 game span, they’ve taken the Rangers to overtime twice and beat them, they decimated the Senators 7-2 and they snuffed out the Islanders on the road. They will look to sweep this miniature east coast road trip by taking on the Flyers tonight.

The Flyers just won’t seem to quit this season. They feel they’ve got a legitimate shot to make the playoffs this year and it shows via their performance on the ice. They took the Islanders to the cleaners on Sunday on the road by a score of 4-1. They mopped up the Devils just two days before that by a score of 6-3. Obviously these two games are opposite ends of the spectrum but this team shows a lot of moxie. Washington and Philly both have a lot to play for tonight. It’s difficult to tell which team’s streak will get snapped so we think based on how both these teams have been playing on the offensive side of the puck, that the over will get demolished tonight. We’re rooting for a lot of goals on this fine Wednesday evening.
