CANUCKS at DEVILS, 1 p.m.
The Devils have won back-to-back games for the first time since Nov. 13-15 . . . They haven’t captured three in a row since opening the season with four straight victories . . . They have alternated the Over/Under in their last eight; they are due for an Over, for what it’s worth.
Pick: Devils (-$140)
ISLANDERS at SABRES, 6 p.m.
Yes, that was the Islanders that took apart the Maple Leafs Friday, 4-0 for their third straight victory. The Sabres have lost four of their five and are staring at four straight Unders.
Pick: Islanders (+105) and Under (6)
FLYERS at HURRICANES, 6 p.m.
Nothing like playing the first game of back-to-backs on New Year’s Eve and flying as the Ball Drops (Puck Drops?). There is no way the Flyers are going to take both these games (Jan. 1 in Nashville is the other), so go with the Canes here and double up in the New Year is the Orange-and-Black steal one here. Especially since the Predators play in Washington, D.C., Monday afternoon and will be home comfy in bed resting when 2019 dawns. The Over is always worth considering when the Flyers are involved. They had a run of Unders a week or so ago, but have seemed to have gotten that out of their system.
Pick: Hurricanes (-$130)
PENGUINS at WILD, 6 p.m.
Pittsburgh has won five straight, seven out of eight, 10 out of 13 . . . Sometimes, it is just that simple. In fact, take a shot at an Alternate Line to end 2018.
Pick: Penguins -1.5 (+$285)
RANGERS at BLUES, 7 p.m.
Even with a win Saturday in Nashville, New York is 2-6 in their last eight on the road (and one of them was a shootout victory. In fact, that win against the Predators was the Rangers’ first regulation road win. The Blues, who dropped a 6-1 egg to the Penguins Saturday, have won three consecutive games following a loss.
Pick: Blues (-$165)
