Malley: De'Von Achane (+160) (BetMGM)

MIA at NE - 1 PM EDT

Safe to say that Achane's and Miami's season has not started how they would like. They travel to NE this weekend for an AFC East matchup between 1-3 teams. Safe to say the loser of this game is going to have a longggggggggg 3 months ahead of them.

That being said, NE has given up at lease 1 RB TD each game this year. While I don't expect Miami backs to feast on NE like the Jets and 49ers did the last 2 weeks, there should still be ample opportunity for Achene to move to the ball this week. But most importantly, Achane is being used in the passing game more than ever.

In 2023 he had 27 total targets.  In 4 weeks of 2024, he has 20 total targets, 4 of which came in the red zone.  Still not sold? 3 of those targets this year happened within 5 yards of the end zone. If Miami gets close, De'Von Achane is a legitimate dual threat.

Hutch: Cole Kmet (+340) (FanDuel)

CAR at CHI - 1 PM EDT

It's hard not to like Cole Kmet! He's an old-school throwback type of tight end who just happens to have the physique of a pro bodybuilder. Kmet should be able to exploit a Carolina defense that has been decimated by injuries.

Kmet's targets have gone up as Caleb Williams' growth has continued. Having 1 TD thrown to him already, I like him to get in the end zone versus a Carolina defense that's given up 9 passing touchdowns through 4 weeks.

ZP: Deebo Samuel (-105) (DraftKings)

AZ at SF - 4:05 PM EDT

Samuel is due. There is no way around it. After returning from injury, the former Gamecock was limited in the Niner offense, but Mike Shanahan has said that his WR1 is at 100% coming into the game against Arizona.

Speaking of the Cards…. They’re the 4th worst defense in the league, giving up 26.5 PPG, and the 5th most rushing yards per game (and we all know, that Deebo gets a call or two around the goal line to run the rock)

Deebo scored in 70% of Niners games in 2023, and he seems to be fully healthy and ready to find the promised land. +100 is a steal.

Mitch: D'Andre Swift (+130) (FanDuel)

CAR at CHI - 1 PM EDT

Swift should have a fabulous game in Week 5 behind this Bears offensive line. Chicago is playing the Panthers, who, as we all know, have been awful on both sides of the ball all season.

Carolina has given up 6 rushing TDs in only 4 games in 2024. Chicago finally gave Swift some action last week, too. He had 165 yards of offense against the Rams, with a rushing TD. This one's a no-brainer, especially at this nice plus-money number!

Nobs: Jayden Reed (+100) (BetMGM)

GB at LAR - 4:25 PM EDT

BetMGM is being awfully kind to us by offering up Reed at even money, especially when the majority of the betting market has this priced at -120 or so. The former Michigan State standout is poised for another big game now that QB Jordan Love is closer to 100%.

Reed was an integral part of the Packers' comeback attempt against the Vikings last week. He earned 8 targets, hauled in 7 receptions, and found the end zone in a losing effort. Reed should get even more looks in the red zone, since Christian Watson is listed as doubtful with an ankle injury.

This play makes sense from a matchup standpoint as well. Reed plays in the slot, so nickelback Quentin Lake (PFF grade of just 59.3) will be on him. This is a McSlam!

Ashley: Ja'Marr Chase (+135) (Caesars)

BAL at CIN - 1 PM EDT

Caesars is being too generous with this number, as other sportsbooks in the market have this one in the +105 to +115 range. Nate Wiggins is having a pretty solid rookie season, but do we really think he can contain a wideout of Chase's caliber?

Baltimore has done a remarkable job of stopping the run, but they've struggled against the pass through the first 4 weeks of the season. The Ravens rank just 25th in yards per pass allowed. Look for Chase to hit pay dirt in this one! Cha-Ching!

Chris: Evan Engram (+260) (DraftKings)

IND at JAX - 1 PM EDT

Engram practiced for a second-straight day on Thursday, indicating he should be available for Sunday's home matchup against the Indianapolis Colts. This is the perfect matchup for Engram to return to. Indy has struggled to defend tight ends all season, allowing 24 receptions on 29 targets for 226 yards and 2 touchdowns.

Jacksonville's team implied total (24.5 points) is fifth-highest for this week 5 slate. If the Jags find a way to score 3 touchdowns, I'm betting Engram is responsible for at least one of them.
