We know Young had a challenging rookie season last year, but we’re optimistic the former #1 pick can bounce back this year! Pairing that with a litany of running back options should stabilize an offense that struggled all season. Again, we expect more out of Bryce Young early this year. With Diontae Johnson as the WR1 to start the season, five receptions seems well within reason for him. Currently sitting around -115 odds, it’s not the juiciest line out there, but it's still a solid bet. With the Saints struggling against the pass last year, the Panthers might be more likely to air it out, too.
Unfortunately, with Jonathon Brooks still recovering from a torn ACL, he’ll be out this weekend. Most of the carry attempts will land in Chuba Hubbard's hands on Sunday. That’s not a terrible thing, though. Hubbard has been steadily improving year over year, entering his 4th year in the league this year. He rushed for nearly 1000 yards, so a line set at 54.5 seems low, especially if he’s the lead back. We expect to see the run game mixed in a fair amount against this Saints roster. We’d say, take this line if you see it near -115. It’s a strong take.
Even though Kamara isn’t the back he used to be, he’s still a solid option for this Saints offense. Expect to see Carr use Kamara a fair amount this weekend as a check-down option and from the backfield. Kamara could easily go for over 100 combined yards in this matchup, so jump on this line if you see it around -115 or better. We expect to see a lot out of the veteran's back!
Moving on to another game, Detroit is taking on the Rams for their week one matchup! In this game, we love Amon-Ra St. Brown to score a touchdown. He’s one of the best receivers in the league, and he has a great connection with Goff. It’s currently a no-brainer pick with plus odds. So if you see it with plus odds still, grab it, because we don’t think it will stay that way for long!
