The Texans continue to make a bold statement to the rest of the NFL. They are ready to win and win NOW! Less than a month after bringing in prolific running back Joe Mixon from Cincinnati, Houston is putting the final touches on a deal to bring All-World wideout Stefon Diggs to the squad as well.

What does this trade mean for both the Bills and the Texans? Keep reading to find out the ins and outs of this deal.

Breaking Down the Deal: Who Gets What?

Diggs will join up with CJ Stroud to add even more firepower to a Houston offense that shocked even the biggest NFL experts last season. Stroud, the 2023-24 NFL Rookie of the Year, will now have a ton of weapons at his disposal.

The former Ohio State star will now have Diggs, Tank Dell, Nico Collins, and Dalton Schultz to throw to down the field. Just imagine how dynamic this young offense will be with so many downfield threats, not to mention the stability that Mixon will bring to the running game as well.

In exchange for Diggs, Buffalo will get a 6th round pick in this year's draft and a couple of selections (a 2nd rounder and a 5th rounder) in the 2025 NFL Draft. The Bills did recently add veteran WR Curtis Samuel from the Commanders, but they may now need to add another receiver as well.

Why Did Diggs and the Bills Part Ways?

It's a mystery as to why Buffalo wanted to send away its former No. 1 wide receiver. However, there were lots of rumors flying around last season about how Diggs was unhappy with the direction of the Bills.

That may sound a bit far-fetched since Buffalo has won 4 straight AFC East division titles. That being said, this squad has been put out of the playoffs in the Divisonal Round in 3 straight seasons.

How Does this Trade Benefit Diggs and the Texans?

If Diggs really did want a change of scenery, he certainly found a nice landing spot. Not only is he joining an exciting young quarterback in Stroud, but he should fit right in with a Houston franchise that is on the upswing. Head coach DeMeco Ryans is a fiery young guy that should have no problem keeping Diggs's ego in check.

No disrespect to Tank Dell or Nico Collins, but Houston needed a true No. 1 wideout. Diggs fits that criteria to a T, as he's been one of the most productive downfield threats in the NFL since coming into the league in 2015.

Will this move get Houston even further in the playoffs in 2024-25? Time will tell, but this team will definitely be fun to watch once again.
