Mims' Thursday Night Football Picks: Bengals vs Ravens, Gus Edwards Prop bet, spread, over/under

Both teams are coming off last-second losses.

Robert Mims

The Baltimore Ravens and the Cincinnati Bengals square off on Thursday Night Football. The Ravens are favored by 3.5 and the total is 46.5. The money line is Bengals +158 and Ravens -190.  Baltimore is the home team.

The Records: Ravens are 7-3 for the season and 6-4 against the spread. Bengals  are 5-4 for the season and  4-4-1 ATS.

Coaching Match Up: Ravens Head Coach John Harbaugh over Zac Taylor. Harbaugh’s tenure has a body of work that includes a Super Bowl victory. Taylor is respected and has led the Bengals to consecutive playoff appearances.

Quarterback: Ravens Lamar Jackson and Bengals Joe Burrow. Both are in the top ten of quarterbacks in the NFL. Slight edge to Burrow but Jackson is the more electrifying runner.

Player Props- Ravens RB Gus Edwards rushing total over 46.5. Edwards has exceeded the projected total 7 times in 10 games. The price is -103. Take him over.

The consensus: Bengals have 59% of the action and the total is 62% going over.

The Selection: The Bengals lost the early match up to the Ravens 27-24. Both teams are coming into this game after suffering a last second loss at home. Bengals need the game more. Bengals plus the 3.5 and over.

On Monday, I will preview the Monday Night Football game featuring the Philadelphia Eagles vs. Kansas City Chiefs. My record on MNF is 13-7 with 1 push this season.
