Mims' Monday Night Football Picks: Packers vs Raiders, point spread, over/under, Josh Jacobs prop bet

WR Devante Adams is questionable which could limit the Raider offense.

Robert Mims

The Green Bay Packers play the Las Vegas Raiders tonight on Monday Night Football. The Packers are favored by 2 and the total is 45.5. The money line is Packers  –130 and Raiders +110. Las Vegas is the home team.

Records: Green Bay is 2-2 and Las Vegas is 1-3. Packers are 3-1 against the spread. The Packers games have gone over the total in 3 of the 4 games this season. Raiders are 1-2-1 ATS. The Raiders games have gone under in 3 of the first 4.

Coach: Green Bay Head Coach Matt LaFleur over Vegas Coach Josh McDaniels. While LaFleur has made some questionable decisions in some post season appearances, McDaniels has a history of clock mismanagement and has not had any success as head coach. He failed miserably as the head man in Denver and appears on the same path with the Raiders. LaFleur clearly gets the edge.

Quarterback: Packers QB Jordan Love and Raiders  QB Jimmy Garoppolo. Love is in his first season as a starter after 3 seasons of being Aaron Rodgers’ understudy. Jimmy G is a seasoned journeyman who has led and played on Super Bowl teams. He has always been susceptible to injury. He gets the edge over Love.

The consensus: Green Bay  has 59% of the action and the total is 56% going with the over.

Player Prop: RB Josh Jacobs over 73.5 yards. The price is -115. Jacobs has not played enough to achieve the projected total this season. He did not participate in training camp and reported late. Last year ,Jacobs led the NFL in rushing. The Packer have given up the 3rd most rushing yards in the league this season Take Jacobs over as he returns to form tonight.

The Selection: The Raiders have injuries in their secondary and Love will exploit that area. Raiders All Pro WR Devante Adams did not practice this week so his status is questionable.  Expect a heavy dose of RB Josh Jacobs from the Raiders. Packers will bounce back after being trounced on Sept. 28 by the Detroit Lions 34-20. The edge to the Packers because of extra time to prepare. Packers and over is the play.

On Thursday Night Football, I will preview the Kansas City Chiefs and the Denver Broncos. My record on TNF is 6-7 with 3 wins on the game selection,1 total and two with the player prop.
