Best 2022 NFL Thanksgiving Bets To Follow

How to bet on the Bills vs. Lions, Giants vs. Cowboys and Patriots vs. Vikings.

Lauren Cordell

Soon after Halloween is over, most people, retailers, and businesses tend to jump right into the Christmas spirit and look right past Thanksgiving Day. For sports fans and betting enthusiasts, Thanksgiving is the King of all Holidays. This holiday checks all the boxes, family, friends, food, drinks, and most importantly, 3 NFL Games on National TV.

Below we give you our best Thanksgiving Day Bets.

As always, be sure to research the best online sportsbooks in the industry so you can find the best lines and odds.

Buffalo Bills at Detroit Lions

Line: Bears -9.5

Total: o/u 54

Time: 12:30 pm EST

TV: CBS

BEST BET: Bills -6 1H.

The Bills got off to a slow and sluggish start last week against Cleveland, only scoring 6 points until they finally reached the end zone with:14 seconds left in the first half. A lot of that could be due to Bills players having to burrow themselves out of their houses, through 6-feet of snow, and find their way to the airport just one day before their game.

This week will be different; the Bills teams will stay in Detroit and have a chance to practice before their Turkey Day matchup with the Lions. Look for the Bills to come out of the gates firing on all cylinders.

New York Giants at Dallas Cowboys

Line: Cowboys -8.5

Total: o/u 44.5

Time: 4:30 pm EST

TV: FOX

BEST BET: Under 44.5.

The 2nd game of our Thanksgiving Day slate is an NFC East Divisional Showdown. The Cowboys and Giants are 7-3 and tied for 2nd in the NFC East. Despite having the same record, the Cowboys have a +84 point differential compared to the Giants' +1. I expect some regression coming for the Giants.

There is a significant mismatch in this game I expect the cowboys to take advantage of. Per FootballOutsiders, the Dallas Cowboys ranks #3 in Rush DVOA, while the Giants rank 28th in Defensive Rush DVOA. The Cowboys will control the pace and run the offense through Tony Pollard and Zeke Elliott.

New England Patriots at Minnesota Vikings

Line: Vikings -3

Total: o/u 41.5

Time: 8:20 pm EST

TV: NBC

BEST BET: Under 41.5

The Vikings are in a bounce-back spot after an embarrassing 40-3 loss to the Dallas Cowboys. Based on the spread and total of this game, the market expects this game to be a low-scoring battle, and I agree.

Many people don't realize the Patriots' defense is one the best in the NFL. They have the 1st ranked defense in total DVOA, Pass DVOA, and 12th against the run. In scoring defense, they only allow 16.9 points per game, which is the 2nd lowest in the league.

On the flip side, New England's offense struggles at times. Football Outsiders has the Patriots ranked 26th in total DVOA, and they have the 3rd lowest offensive success rate in the NFL (39.5%). Only the Panthers and Jets are worse.
