Monday Night Football: Steelers vs Bengals — Mims has the action and picks prop bets

Where and when to watch: Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Cincinnati Bengals, 8:15 pm ET on ESPN

Robert Mims

The Steelers are coming into the game on a two-game losing streak. The Bengals are playing out the string after losing QB Joe Burrow several weeks ago due to injury. The Steelers are favored by 14.0 and the total is 40. The money line for Pittsburgh is -1100. The Bengals money line is +700. The Steelers are battling for the number 1 seed and a bye in the AFC. They trail the Chiefs by 1 game.

Prop Bets to Watch:

Ben Roethlisberger's passing attempts is set at 39.5. He threw 37 times against Buffalo. I expect the Steelers to have the lead most of the game so they will be running the ball more. My lean is toward the under.

The Bengals total points is projected at 13.5. They have scored 10 or under in 4 of their last 5 games. Go under as Steelers defense holds them to two field goals and perhaps a touchdown.

Steelers over 3.5 Touchdowns. Over that number is +140. Steelers over 27.5 is set at -104. The weather forecast is cloudy, and the showers will end prior to game time. I think the Steelers go over on both plays!

Line Movements and Action:

95% of the money and the 70% of the tickets are on the Steelers as of this morning. One major book in Nevada took a sizable six figure bet on Pittsburgh.

The Bengals looked dismal against the Cowboys in a 30-7 loss. They committed 3 turnovers and stalled several times in the red zone. They should not have extended drives against the Steelers. Most teams can expect approximately 12 possessions a game. Time of possession will work against them so they may get 10. My opinion? The Bengals will get stomped by the Steelers.
