Mike Kern's NFL Picks include Bears vs Giants, Ravens vs Rams, Cowboys vs Patriots, 49ers vs Packers and a 3-team teaser

Mike Kern

And now for the weekly pro picks, which have been doing well the last few weeks. Imagine that.

I’m not in love with the card, but that won’t stop us from trying to nail down at least a few winners.

Three-team teaser

Browns (-1.5) over Dolphins, with Bills (+5) over Broncos and Saints (-.5) over Panthers

Who knows exactly what the Browns are about, especially coming off that ending against the Steelers, but I have a hard time believing the Fish are going to go up there and win outright, which is basically what they’ve have to do. The Broncos play a lot of tight games, and usually lose them. I think the Bills can at worst lose by maybe a field goal at home. And I don’t think the Panthers are beating Drew Brees and company in New Orleans. So there you go.

Falcons (-4.5) over Buccaneers

The Falcons and Matt Ryan have looked great the last two weeks. Why not make it three, at home against a Tampa team that does play for Bruce Arians but has a quarterback in Jameis Winston who is capable of multiple interceptions in almost any situation. So I’m hoping the Falcs can keep this mini roll going.

Lions (-3.5) over Redskins

This is as much of a bet against Washington than anything else. Enough said. Detroit doesn’t have its QB, but I still think the visitors can get it done in a setting where there is no homefield advantage.

Bears-Giants (under 40.5)

Wouldn’t go big on this one, just more of a hunch. Could be cold weather, Mitchell Trubisky could continue to struggle, Bears have a decent defense and the Giants have a rookie QB.

Ravens (-3) over Rams

Ravens might be hottest team in league right now. Rams are struggling. I know this is the kind of spot where they might come up big because of desperation setting in. But I’m still going to back Mr. Jackson in his bid to win the MVP.

Packers (+3) over 49ers

This is more of a play on Aaron Rodgers coming off a bye and playing in prime-time. I think he’s dangerous in this spot. And the 49ers haven’t been great the last two weeks. So maybe they’re coming back to Earth a little bit. I think the Pack can win outright.

Cowboys (+6.5) over Patriots

I try playing against the Pats as much as I try to avoid going against Alabama. Just because. But for some reason I have a feeling this might be a game. And Tom Brady is a little iffy due to an elbow injury. That probably means he’s going to play and throw for like 900 yards. But even if he plays, which I still expect him to, I just think the Boys have a chance. If only to hiss off Eagle fans. If you like you could always throw them in that three-team teaser instead of one of the teams I gave you, and just ask them to stay within two touchdowns.

Now go get ‘em out there. May the bounces be with you.
