Louisville at Boston College Friday Night Football, Oct 25th: Predictions and Best Odds

Louisville Favored to Win Over Struggling Boston College in Friday Night Showdown

Mitchell LeBrun

We have another Friday Night College Football lineup this week! Louisville will take on ACC rival Boston College. Both programs are searching for wins, with Boston College losing its last two games. They are currently sitting with a 4-3 record on the year. Louisville shares the same record at 4-3. However, we’d argue that although both share the same record, Louisville’s is more understandable. Lousiville has only lost to Miami, Notre Dame, and SMU, all ranked opponents. Boston College’s losses have come against Virginia, Missouri, and Virginia Tech, as they’ve struggled to find wins in conference play. We’ll see who can secure the win this week and inch one step closer to bowl eligibility.

Louisville at Boston College Predictions

Boston College has struggled lately, especially under QB Thomas Castellanos. Late turnovers and misses have staggered their drives, as this roster continues to fall short. Castellanos hasn’t been the sole issue for Boston College. They have struggled with consistency from the top down. Despite an electric start and betting FSU in week one, the rest of the season hasn’t been as kind. We expect these trends to persist into this matchup.

On the other side, Louisville is coming off a narrow loss to Louisville as the Hurricanes keep gliding through games on the ref's whistle. That’s a story for another day, though. Overall, Louisville held its own against the #6 ranked Hurricanes. Tyler Shough had an incredible game with 4 TDs and 342 passing yards. He has become a top QB in the ACC as Lousiville stays competitive against solid competition. Even though Boston College is coming into this matchup with a bit of extra rest from playing the Thursday game last week, Louisville is still the stronger team

We expect to see a low-scoring game in this one. Boston College has managed to keep most of its games close. Limiting teams through the air, Boston College has struggled against the rush, which Louisville has had mixed results. This matchup could be close if Boston College can limit turnovers and shut down the passing game. Although, that could be a tall task against a Louisville team hungry for a win!

Betting Odds and Predictions

Spread:

-7.5 Louisville

+7.5 Boston College

We’d take the Louisville spread here. Even though an 8-point win is rough in a game that could be close, we still think Louisville is the superior team. They’ve shown far more offensive potential and resiliency against solid competition. This is a good line at nearly even money, but not a lock.

Money Line

+210 Boston College

-260 Louisville

Even though this line doesn't give us a ton of value for Louisville, it’s still solid. The Cardinals have been a more robust team, with an elite offense that lets them compete with anyone.

Total Points 53.5

With the total points set at 53.5, we’ll lean on the Under here. With how Boston College’s defense has managed to keep games low-scoring and close outside last week, they should be able to hold Louisville a bit. Conversely, we don’t expect Boston College to put many points up in this game. With Castellanos' turnover issues and inconsistency passing the ball, we think this one will end with Boston College scoring less than 20 points.
