Happy Friday, everyone! There is a lot to be thankful for today as we head into the long weekend, but we are especially thankful for the college football slate going down tonight. Several exciting battles went down last night, and we are confident that tonight will provide an equal amount of drama and excitement.
We have taken a look at the slate for this evening, putting together our favorite Underdog player props in hopes of sweeping the board. We’re 5-1 on the year thus far, so without further adieu, let’s get into our top picks!
The No. 16 Oklahoma Sooners are entering the 2024 college football season with a new starting quarterback. Jackson Arnold has taken the reins from Dillon Gabriel, who now plays for the University of Oregon. We did see Arnold in the Alamo Bowl last year, and he put up a massive, 361-yard performance.
While we don’t necessarily expect him to have that many yards tonight against Temple, there’s a pretty good chance he starts the year on the right foot. Look for Arnold to be closer to 300 yards tonight than 250, hitting the over in this spot.
This pick looks to be a home run. Tyler Van Dyke started to come into his own at the end of the 2023 season for the Wisconsin Badgers, but he is looking for a great full season under center. Western Michigan should be a good opponent for him and his teammates to test things out, and we have full faith that he can throw for at least 256 yards tonight.
The Badgers might not have as solid of a rushing attack this year as they have in other seasons, which should cause Van Dyke to pass the ball more. Don’t overthink this line tonight!
We were a bit surprised to see Cam Cook’s rushing total so high, especially because he didn’t have more than 27 yards in a single game last year. Sure, he didn’t get a ton of work, but we’re not confident that his first game will go exceptionally well.
He might have some rust to knock off, so we’ll take the under for his rushing total tonight. We need to see more from him before confidently taking his overs.
