Too many points here. Pittsburgh is not a good team, but they’ve been losing tough battles lately: by two to Boston College, by three to Louisville on the road. They’re scrappy. Besides, who decided Syracuse was suddenly any good? They’ve lost three in a row, five of their last seven, and have one good win this season. Pitt will slow the game down and play hard enough to make it an interesting chess match (read: an ugly rock fest).

Miami Hurricanes at Florida State Seminoles, 8 pm Eastern

The Pick: Miami +7 (-110), bet $11 to win $10; Miami +245, bet $5 to win $12.25

What am I missing here? Miami’s won nine games in a row, including knocking off second-ranked Duke on Saturday. The Hurricanes are 13-3 while Florida State is 8-5. Miami has beaten Wake Forest; Florida State lost to Wake. Miami beat North Carolina State by eight; Florida State beat them by two. The Hurricanes adjusted offense is 24th in the nation. True, Miami has lost its last seven games to the Seminoles, but most of the players playing tonight were in high school or even grammar school. Seven points is a lot to get, here. I will take them. I’ll take a slight flyer on the moneyline too.
