St. Bonaventure Wolves at Clemson Tigers, 2:30 pm Eastern

The Pick: Clemson +2.5 (-109), bet $10.90 to win $10

I know this game technically isn’t a home game for Clemson, but it’s in South Carolina and so the home dog is at least near his backyard. Both teams are undefeated but Clemson has played better teams (albeit slightly). St. Bonaventure is ranked 22nd in the AP Top 25, but only beat Boise State by six last night, after trailing at halftime, while Clemson cruised against Temple. The Tigers average almost seven more points per game than the Bonnies and have a better FG%. I think it’s a battle tonight, so gimme the points.

Brown Bears at Creighton Bluejays, 3:15 pm Eastern

Yale Bulldogs at Vermont Catamounts, 4 pm Eastern

The Pick: Moneyline parlay Creighton (-720) w/Vermont (-225), true price -156, bet $10 to win $6.45

Unfortunately, working the Ivy League beat during its non-conference schedule means picking against Ivy League teams sometimes. Creighton is 59th in Ken Pomeroy’s rankings while Brown is 232nd. Even though the game is in the Virgin Islands and Brown has played good teams tough, I don’t see them pulling this one out. So I’ll pair the Bluejays with the Catamounts (and ignore the visual of what that hybrid animal might look like), who Pomeroy has ranked 95th against Yale’s 140th. Yale beat a very bad team in Siena and got pummeled against a better team in Seton Hall. Vermont’s somewhat in between but they’re better than Yale. Pairing the Catamounts with the Bluejays gives me a decent value on a straight win, rather than worrying about the 4.5 points.
