On the last day of the college basketball regular season, Kern teases Michigan vs Maryland & Iowa vs Illinois... and 2 leans if you need 'em

Mike Kern

It’s the last day of the college basketball regular season. Which of course means by far the best part of the season will soon be upon us. But first let’s see if we can get there with a little bit more in our bank account.

There’s only four games I’m kind of even thinking about. Memphis is getting nine at Houston. Memphis beat Houston at home by a point two weeks back. Houston is the better team, and should win, but the spread might be high. Maryland is giving four at home to Michigan. The Terps have lost their last two, and Michigan two of its last three. Ohio State is getting seven at Michigan State. Tom Izzo’s team has won four straight, including the last two on the road at Maryland and Penn State. And Illinois is giving four to visiting Iowa, which can score but has been all over the place at times.

So …

Let’s try a teaser of Maryland and Illinois, both to win. But hey, if you want to tease Michigan up to nine instead, I wouldn’t really argue. If you need more to keep you going, I would lean toward moving Memphis up to 14, and Michigan State down to 2.5. But that’s me. Again, I don’t think Memphis is going to win. I’m just thinking two touchdowns might be a little too much.

Let’s go Terps and Illini. And we’ll see you back when the conference tournaments get cooking later this week.
