Mike Kern's college teasers include Villanova at Seton Hall, Tulsa at Temple, UMass at La Salle, St. John's at Butler, and more

OK, so let’s try to get a few winners tonight as the college basketball season moves toward the conference tournaments and then the Madness, which of course is always one of the best times of the year.

You know I like teasers, so here goes: Let’s try Indiana +1.5 at home against Minnesota. Indy coming off a tough 1-point loss to Illinois, but the Hoosiers are 14-3 at home and Minny is 2-9 on the road. Let’s hope those trends continue. With that how about we take Villanova +9 at Seton Hall. The Hall won the first meeting in Philly, and this is to clinch the regular-season Big East title. But these games are usually close, so I think moving the line up is the play.

Let’s also try Butler -4 at home to St. John’s, which is coming off that monster home upset of Creighton. But the Johnnies are 1-7 on the road, and most haven’t been close. Butler isn’t the same team it was a month or so ago, but it’s still 13-3 at its place. Let’s pair that with Creighton -7 at home to Georgetown, which has lost four straight. Creighton last lost at home on Jan. 7.

If you’re looking for a little something local, I would lean toward Tulsa +7.5 at Temple and Massachusetts +6.5 at La Salle. Tulsa is the better team, but Temple might be due for a win after losing three straight. Just not sure the Owls can cover the touchdown. And LaSalle is coming off a nice win.
