Eckel picks Princeton at Brown, with the Tigers fighting for first place and the Bears fighting to make the Ivy Tournament

Princeton at Brown (-1), 7 p.m.

Five teams are jockeying for the four spots in the Ivy League tournament and this game could determine a lot.

Princeton (12-11, 7-3) comes into the weekend tied for second place and one game out of first. Brown (13-10, 6-4) is in the fourth spot, but just one game ahead of fifth-place Penn who they will host Saturday night.

Just two weeks ago the Tigers beat the Bears, 73-54, at Jadwin Gym in the best game the team has played all season. Can Mitch Henderson’s team get another effort like that again Friday in Providence?

After a 4-0 start to the Ivy season, Princeton has spilt each of the last three weekend series. So if you think the Tigers lose to Yale Saturday, take them Friday night.

Princeton is an impressive 7-1 against the spread as an underdog this season and is 6-1 ATS on the road. And while Brown is 10-2 at home this season, the Bears are just 6-4-1 ATS at home.

The Pick: This isn’t a real strong play, but go with form and take the Tigers and big man Richmond Arriguzoh to set up a battle for first place Saturday.
