Not too much going on tonight, but we have to have something to at least put a little something on. Or else why would we all be so involved with this?
Just saying.
Let’s try a couple of teasers, both in the Midwest. First we’ll go with Xavier, moving the line down to minus 3.5 at home against DePaul. Xavier has been up and down this season, for sure, and is coming off a tough home loss to Villanova. The Musketeers also need every win they can get. DePaul is, well, mostly still DePaul. They lost the first meeting by eight in Chicago. I’m hoping X can cover the field goal and a hook.
Michigan State and Iowa have been two strange teams this season. Both are 10-6 in the Big Ten, and tonight they’re playing at MSU. The home team is giving 8.5. I could almost make a case to go either way here, but I’ll take the Spartans in their building and give the 3.5. Hope I chose right. Iowa’s defense could be the biggest difference.
And in the MAC, mostly just for fun because of the guy I know out there, we’ll try Central Michigan getting 3 against visiting Toledo, and Akron over host Bowling Green in a game for first place in the West Division. Toledo and Western Mich both stink, but we’re going light here. Just something to root for, cause there has to be some kind of trust factor when money is on the line. Toledo beat WMU at home by eight. BG lost at Akron by 15 early this month. I’ll be getting 4 with the visitors. I think that could be sufficient. But it is the MAC after all. So there’s always that.
