Kern's Saturday College Teasers include Villanova, Princeton, the Hall, Drexel, Duke vs Carolina, Michigan vs Michigan St. and LSU vs Auburn

Mike Kern

Lots of college games to peruse today. Let’s see if we can find a few winners out there.

First, the Penn and Princeton teaser that we gave out yesterday is still in play, since their games at Columbia and Cornell got moved back due to the weather. Both teams just have to win. As if it could be that simple. You might also want to merely take Princeton giving the 5.5 at Cornell, because it looks like an Ivy League mismatch.

You know me, I like teasers. Why ask why. So I’ll give out a few. Feel free to mix and match however you see them working out.

Villanova doesn’t lose three in a row very often. Now they’re laying 3.5 in South Philly, to Seton Hall, which might be the best team in the Big East. The Wildcats lost their last game at the Wells Fargo Center. And they’ve been pretty good against The Hall in Philly. So I’ll take them getting 1.5. So who do you pair them with? Well you could try Penn and/or Princeton. But how about we go with Penn State, which we can move to a plus 2 at home against Minnesota. The Nits are coming off a huge win at Michigan State, while Minny just destroyed Iowa at home. I’m guessing the Nits keep a good thing going.

I’m also going to try Drexel giving 1 in West Philly against Towson. Dragons are 10-2 at home, 1-9 away. They’re coming off a nice win over James Madison. And they lost by a lot at Towson a month ago. So give me the Dragons. Hunches are good every so often.

Will also try Michigan State minus 2.5 at Michigan. Spartans got upset at home by Penn State, might not be a good mood, especially after coach Tom Izzo went off about the criticism. I know it’s a rivalry, but I think MSU is the better team. Maybe not by much, but hopefully by enough.

How about a couple of more teasers? Let’s try North Carolina getting 12 at home against Duke, with Louisville giving 1.5 to Virginia at home. And Auburn at home, where the Tigers have played much better, getting .5 against LSU, is probably worth considering using with something. Did somebody say three-teamer?

Remember, as always, to tread carefully. There’s still a long way to go in the season. You want to have something left by the time the Madness rolls around.
