UConn (+6.5)

The Huskies and Mustangs have had down years in the American and hold identical statistics. Neither team is bound for March, but this matchup is a matter of ensuring a spot out of the conference bottom three.

The Mustangs (12-12, 4-8) are considered the favorite but are an abysmal 6-9-0 ATS as the home team. Jimmy Whitt Jr. is the backbone of the team and leads the team in nearly three categories on offense (RPG 6.5, APG 4.3, SPG 1.7).

The Huskies (13-12, 4-8) despite facing numerous injuries have been 3-1-0 ATS as the away underdog. Christian Vital has picked up the slack and has averaged double figures in scoring in his last five games.

Both teams have struggled mightily but SMU has proven unreliable against the spread and fare worse when they’re at home. UConn seems to be the lesser of two evils under Coach Dan Hurley.
