Villanova -5.5 @ GEORGETOWN (147.5), 6:30 pm
Pick: Villanova -5.5

This pick is nothing more than a buy on Jay Wright getting his team refocused after a loss at St. John’s on Sunday. This year, Villanova is 4-1 ATS following a loss and the Wildcats have been dynamite so far in 2019. In the first two months of the calendar year, Villanova is 11-2 and 9-4 ATS. A team that lost a bunch of players to the NBA from last season’s national championship found its identity in league play and we’re not expecting one loss against a good St. John’s team to derail Villanova. Georgetown isn’t an NCAA Tournament team and this line is only 1.5 points higher than the closing number of Villanova -4 against the Johnnies. Give us the Cats to bounce back in the nation’s capital.

St. John’s +1 @ PROVIDENCE (142.5), 8:30 pm
Pick: Providence -1

Much how we like Villanova to rebound, we expect the Red Storm to suffer a letdown on Wednesday night. On Sunday, St. John’s beat the Wildcats in New York for the first time in 17 years. Regardless of the opponent, the next game figured to be a tough one for Chris Mullin’s crew. The opponent is the Providence Friars on the road for St. John’s tonight. The Friars may not be headed to the big dance, but they’ve held their own at home this year going 9-5 in Providence. St. John’s lost by 14 points at home earlier this month to the Friars so there’s certainly not a lack of confidence for the home team here. Maybe the Red Storm come in looking for revenge, but our guess is they’ve been riding the emotional high of the Nova win to start this week and therefore will not have their best stuff on the road.
