You’d think after losing Robby Gray Houston would regress? Think again! The Cougars are off to their best start since the Hakeem Olajuwon era. While, the Huskies have been inconsistent after losing their star player, Jalen Adams.

The Cougars (23-1, 10-1) are ranked ninth in the AP Poll. Corey Davis Jr. has brought stability to the offense averaging 15.5 PPG and has been an active contributor on both ends of the floor. Dejon Jarreau’s development has been something to watch as he scored 16 points, 8 rebounds, and 5 assists against Cincinnati on Sunday. Coach Kelvin Sampson has formed an elite defense giving up 60 PPG good for 6th in the nation.

The Huskies (13-11, 4-7) have dealt with a multitude of injuries. Christian Vital has had to step up in a leadership role after Adams’ injury and has been averaging 17 PPG in his last five games. Coach Dan Hurley in his first year hasn’t missed a beat on offense as the team is averaging nearly 80 PPG.

The Cougars are 3-0-0 ATS as the away favorite and have beat the spread by 5.2 points. The Huskies are 10-4-0 ATS as the home team. The loss of Adams is huge, but the Huskies have played very well at home and have beaten quality teams this season like Syracuse. The Huskies should be able to cover.
