Boston Celtics at Detroit Pistons, 7 pm Eastern

The Pick: Boston -8 (-110), bet $22 to win $20

Detroit plays the second game of a back-to-back against a Boston squad suffering a three-game winning streak. The Celtics might finally be finding an identity, making rising superstar Jayson Tatum the primary focus of the offense. The Pistons hung tough with Minnesota last night before fading, and they’re neither good nor experienced enough to sustain solid effort on consecutive nights. They’ve lost six of seven, and as we enter the spring, the mission will be to position themselves for a good lottery pick. Boston takes advantage tonight.

Cleveland Cavaliers at Charlotte Hornets, 7 pm Eastern

The Pick: Cleveland +5 (-114), bet $22.80 to win $20

Two teams with different playoff plans. Charlotte is fighting to make sure they get in the postseason; Cleveland can smell a top seed. In their last game at Charlotte, the Cavaliers pulled off a three-point win (covering the +5), 113-110. They’ve only gotten better and more confident since then. Also, no doubt they’re looking to snap a three-game road losing streak. They’re also 15-10-2 against the spread at home, a respectable record that says they play hard no matter where they are. They’ll play hard tonight, and the game will be close.

Atlanta Hawks at Toronto Raptors, 7:30 pm Eastern

The Pick: Toronto -126, bet $25.20 to win $20

Obviously, Atlanta gathered in their locker room last night and read Seattle O’Sullivan’s column, as they came out and made a statement against the scorching Phoenix Suns. Well, I’m relying on the fact that the internet isn’t yet in Canada. After a truly big win last night, the Hawks go on the road and face a frisky Toronto team in a back-to-back. The Raptors have won four in a row and are 7-3 in their last ten. They’re 16-7 as a favorite and will take advantage of Atlanta (justifiably) relaxing a little bit one day after a huge win.

Houston Rockets at San Antonio Spurs, 8:30 pm Eastern

The Pick: San Antonio -175, bet $25 to win $14.50

I’ll dig a little deeper to just worry about San Antonio winning tonight, mainly because both of these teams may be kicking into tank mode. I just don’t see Gregg Popovich laying down completely against an in-state rival.
