Best Bet: Diamondbacks (-130)

AZ at CLE - 1:10 PM EDT

Arizona let us down in the first 5 innings on Monday, but that won't discourage us from backing Brandon Pfaadt in this daytime thriller on Hump Day. I think Pfaadt is one of the most underrated young righties in the game because of the way he mixes up his 5 pitches. The 25-year-old hits 96 mph with both his sinker and his 4-seamer, which is pretty impressive.

Betting against Cleveland when they're at home is a scary proposition, but we have to remember that Arizona hasn't been too shabby on the road. The D'Backs are 30-27 on the highway, and they've been ripping the ball pretty well of late.

Speaking of ripping the ball, that's just what the D'Backs should be able to do against Cleveland starter Carlos Carrasco. The veteran righty has pitched better than he did last season, but he's still just 3-9 with a 5.53 ERA. Give me the better lineup with the better starter. Take Zona!

Best Bet: Marlins (+136)

CIN at MIA - 6:40 PM EDT

Mikey Nobs, have you lost your ever-loving mind? Probably so, and it wouldn't be the first time! Look I get that this Marlins team stinks, but they've been playing feisty lately. Miami just came away with a series split against Atlanta over the weekend.

This Reds lineup isn't all that great, and they've never seen Miami starter Valente Bellozo. The rookie righty has shown a lot of potential through 3 MLB starts so far, and he has the potential to shut down Cincy. Bellozo has a nice K-rate of 25.4% so far this season.

I'm not crazy about Miami's lineup, but they've been swinging the bats better over the last month or so. The Fish rank a respectable 9th in WRC+ over the last 30 days. Let's fade Andrew Abbott and ride the Marlins!

Best Bet: Rays (+105)

TB at STL - 7:45 PM EDT

The oddsmakers must be smoking something awfully good with this line. Do they not know that Taj Bradley is one of the best young hurlers in the American League? Evidently not, so we'll ride him at this nice dog price!

Bradley didn't have his best stuff during his last start, but we're betting that was just a minor bump in the road. The young righty has allowed just 5 earned runs over his last 5 starts, so current form is definitely in our favor. Bradley hits 96 on the gun with his fastball and his splitter is flat out filthy.

While St. Louis technically has the better lineup, they've been riding the struggle bus lately. The Cards dropped 3 of 4 to the Cubs and they were pounded by the Mets on Monday night in a weird makeup game. Tampa Bay actually ranks higher than St. Louie in WRC+ over the last 30 days. Rays Up!

Best Bet: Mariners (-126)

DET at SEA - 9:40 PM EDT

Yes, I'm fading the potential AL Cy Young Award winner in this spot. Go ahead and make fun of me if you must, but I think Seattle is the right side here. The Mariners are finally starting to hit the ball a little better after bringing in Randy Arozarena and Justin Turner at the trade deadline.

Sure, Tarik Skubal is a beast, but Seattle starter George Kirby isn't exactly chopped liver. The young righty's sinker and splitter can make opposing hitters look silly. He should be able to shut down a Detroit lineup that's hitting just .199 and scoring just 2.8 runs per game over their last 10 outings.

I get that Skubal typically pitches into the 7th inning, but once he's out of there Seattle has a huge edge with their bullpen. Mariners relievers rank 6th in K minus BB rate this season while the Tigers clock in at just 23rd. Let's go M's!
